About Elaine's Florist

Elaine Oulsey-Nevarez has always been a lover of flowers. That passion for Mother Nature's bewitching bouquets has inspired Elaine to become one of Houston's most elite, sought-after and respected florists and businesswomen. She honed her business savvy in the corporate world prior to opening her business in 1992. When she found her department transferred to Dallas, Elaine felt it was time to putdown roots and stay in the city she loved, Houston.

In June of 1992, Elaine's Florist officially blossomed into life. With a team of experienced and passionate designers, Elaine's Florist has become one of the city's foremost floral businesses, producing beautiful, long-lasting arrangements. Elaine is certified by the State of Texas as a "Woman Owned Business" and was also nominated as "Woman Business Entrepreneur of the Year" for 1999 and 2001.

Elaine may have her name on the sign, but there is a whole team of talented and dedicated floral designers working to bring you the best in floral aesthetics.

The Elaine's Florist Team

Beverly Carmon comes to Elaine's with 30 years of floral shop experience. This native Houstonian knows the clients well and meets their needs.

Janet Nino, a native Houstonian, knows how to whirl and twirl when it comes tropical design. Steady as a rock, Janet is skilled at making sure every customer's needs are met. She, like Gin, brings years of design and sales experience to Elaine's.

Rita Cruz designs with precise placement of each floral stem. Her God-given talent shines a ray of light into each arrangement. As dedicated as they come, you can count on Rita to make fabulous arrangements on tight deadlines.

Luis Guzman, the swift delivery driver, knows the city as well as the back of his hand. Dealing with Houston traffic is not at the top of his favorite list but he handles the pressure with ease. Perhaps the soothing aromas of his cargo help ease his stress.

Elaine's Favorite Flowers

Many people ask Elaine about her favorite flowers. Explains Elaine, "I love the more contemporary tropical arrangements. I have always enjoyed traveling to the islands, and when I see a tropical arrangement it just seems to take my mind away to a beautiful ocean view, white beaches with palm trees swaying in the wind . . . and let's not forget the Pina Colada!" Flowers can bring exotic destinations right to your tabletop. Elaine and her team make that happen for every satisfied customer.
