Elaine’s Florist had the honor of preparing the standing sprays for memorial services dedicated to four brave Houston fire fighters who lost their lives during the course of duty on May 31, 2013. We are very honored to have been chosen by the Houston Fire Department to participate in such an important ceremony.
Several firefighters were severely injured when the Southwest Inn, a motel and restaurant off of Highway 59, collapsed during a fire. Four of Houston’s bravest - Captain EMT Matthew Renaud, 35; Engineer Operator EMT Robert Bebee, 41; Firefighter EMT Robert Garner, 29; and Probationary Firefighter Anne Sullivan, 24 – died rescuing civilians trapped in the motel.
The courage of these firefighters is admirable proof that unselfish concern still exists in this world. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the fallen firefighters and we sincerely thank all the Houston Fire Department personal for their courage.
As part of the Houston community, our team of florists felt that it was important to show our respect and gratitude to the four firefighters who sacrificed themselves to save others. Our team designed the standing spray arrangements for the memorial service held at Reliant Stadium on Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Fire trucks and service members from New Orleans, Dallas, and many other Texas cities joined the procession.
